Physical properties of balls affect the way they move on flat surfaces. We experimented and then recorded our findings in our science notebooks.
Such a productive day! The kids are getting into a groove with their new reading partners and reading longer and longer! Today we learned that illustrators and authors work together to provide information about their topic. We can learn information from the illustration that may not be mentioned in the text! Calder shared that the words of his book were teaching him how birds move but he also learned from the picture that birds have extremely sharp claws. We continue to enjoy our shared reading experiences. Today we read our poem in an English accent, like a mouse, and then in a Daddy voice. We also found all the vowels in our poem! February is Dental Health Awareness Month! Brush, brush, brush! Here they are listening to math stories, identifying the important numbers, finding the answer by showing their work with counters on our math mats, and telling a math sentence that matches! We worked with the equals symbol in math today. One friend picked a number and put that many blocks on the math mat. Then the partner had to match it. Both sides of the equal sign must match! |
