HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Thanks for a great party.
Pumpkin Day was so much fun. We weighed pumpkins, measured height and circumference and counted pumpkin seeds.
Our pumpkin day ended with a "ghostly" treat. Thanks Mia for a delicious snack. Today during math we were fishes in the pond. We practiced counting our fishes slowly and carefully. We learned that the last number we say is the number that we have. Ask your child a strategy they used to count when their fishes were scattered or in a circle.
We are continuing to build our sets during readers workshop and making our storybooks come alive. Olivia is showing us the costume she made when she plays the role of Little Red Riding Hood. Today in reading workshop we began building our storybook sets. We are so excited to act out some of our favorite books.
In math we learned about 10 frames. We made lots of different number representations. We added and subtracted and talked about how we know how many are on our 10 frame without even counting. Ask you children to show you how they can represent numbers in so many different ways. Today in math we learned about circles. They are round and have no corners (vertices). We looked at all different colors, shapes, sizes and textures of circles. Then we practiced counting and sorting all different shapes.
We had a great day in KKG. |
